This flashcard game has been used to train hundreds of actors over the years in the language of Shakespeare. This two person warmup game is the fastest way we’ve found to get actors comfortable speaking as a character from a 16th century play in England. One actor holds the words, and the other improvises a monologue. The monologist works whatever word is being shown into their speech, and when the actor holding the flashcards hears the word being used they switch to the next word in the stack. Or, use two sets of words and perform two person improvised scenes with two people holding a set of flashcards, one stack for each actor in the scene to read.

NOTE:
We can’t seem to find the original files for our Shakespeare Words Flashcards so this download is a scan of our actual working flashcard set we use during our rehearsals, dogeared hand written words added on the fly and all.
