In A World... Where Everyone Must Speak in the Third Person

In a not-too-distant dystopian future, a time has come when the American peopl have shed their individuality in order to uphold and support the common good.  But the pendulum has swung too far, and now even uttering the word "I" accidentally will get you sent to The Caves of Penury for "rehabilitation." Can a country survive when its people start to re-discover that sense of self that has been buried for so long?
